The first and only all-vegan camping festival in California, US, will return for the third time on 8th October 2023. Organised by the Kind Heart Coalition, The four day Third Annual Kind Hearted Campout will be at Harrison Serenity Ranch, located on Palomar Mountain, 55 miles north of San Diego, California, a historic 67-acre ranch in the Cleveland National Forest that was once owned by Nate Harrison, a former slave who was the first African-American homesteader in San Diego County.
It will include music, discussions, activism workshops, games, art activities, yoga classes, and dance parties. The event schedule includes Nonviolent Communication and Strategic Messaging for Animal Rights trainings with Eva Hamer and workshops with Gwenna Hunter (Community Organizer), Matt Braun (Manager of Grassroots Protest Campaigns at PETA), Brittany Michelson (Captive Animals Campaigner at In Defense of Animals), and Raven Deerbrook (Documentary maker).
Andrea Diaz, who attended last year, said to VegWorld magazine, “The Kind Hearted Campout is the best vegan social event of the year. There are super fun games and activities, delicious meals, lovely nature hikes, and morning meditation, plus inspiring discussions and workshops with folks from different areas of the vegan movement.”
Joseph Rondou, another attendee, said, “The Kind Hearted Campout was a truly unique and life-changing experience. I would recommend anyone looking to meet like-minded people to attend!”
