A new fully vegan hotel in north Wales, Ffarm Hall in Betws‑Yn‑Rhos near Abergele, has begun taking bookings ahead of its planned opening in May 2026.
Ffarm Hall is the latest project of Louise and Andy Macbeth, the couple behind Beck Hall in Yorkshire, which became England’s first vegan hotel in 2023. The historic Ffarm Hall building dates back to the early 1700s and was turned into a hotel and restaurant after being sold in 1964, later changing hands several times before operating as a boutique bed and breakfast from 2006. The Macbeths have been renovating the property, sharing images of new ensuites and fireplaces as they prepare it for its relaunch as a dedicated vegan venue.
Louise and Andy Macbeth said on Facebook, “North Wales has always been a special place for us… Our hope is to create the same warm, welcoming atmosphere many of you know from Beck Hall, with delicious plant-based food, cosy places to unwind, and nature all around.”
The new hotel has already published a sample menu featuring seasonal small plates, including Coronation Tempeh Boats and Chard, Date, & Almond Pastille, together with sandwiches, soups, burgers, banana blossom and chips, lasagna, dal, and other dishes. Guests will also be able to enjoy afternoon tea and desserts such as Lemon Chia Cheesecake, Chocolate Orange Pot, and Sticky Toffee Pumpkin Pudding. Drawing on their experience at Beck Hall, the Macbeths intend to extend Ffarm Hall’s plant‑based ethos beyond food to all aspects of the guest experience, with cruelty‑free toiletries, bedding, and cleaning products, mirroring the approach where non‑vegan materials such as wool carpets and leather sofas are replaced with vegan alternatives as they wear out. Reflecting on their journey so far, Louise and Andy Macbeth said that the response to Beck Hall’s plant-based menu has been “incredibly special.”
