‘It’s not uncommon to witness the legs of animals hanging out of crowded slaughter bound trucks. On this occasion we were able to stop the truck and gently lift her leg back up. A bittersweet moment because it only gave her a few minutes of reprieve before she was forced into the slaughterhouse. Most likely the only time she felt the gentle hands of people who cared.’
