They often say that comparisons between humans and animals are unnecessary, that our fight doesn’t need comparisons, and even that comparisons are “offensive.”⁠

However, whether you look at it this way or use these comparisons in your activism, one fundamental thing is clear: as far as what matters most, we are indeed the same. We all want to live a dignified life, with happiness and without suffering; we all deserve rights under the law.⁠
