Why Don’t Vegans Eat Eggs?

Why Don’t Vegans Eat Eggs?

Why don’t vegans eat eggs? 👀

Egg-laying hens are typically slaughtered at around 2 to 3 years old, when productivity declines. 🐔

All male chicks that are born as part of the breeding process are killed on their first day of life. They are not the same breed that are raised for meat, so they are deemed a “waste product.” 💔

Eggs are very high in cholesterol and saturated fat, making them a “food” to avoid for health conscious individuals. There is also a significant environmental footprint for eggs when compared to plant based foods! ❤️‍🩹

Some people are uncomfortable with the exploitation of mother’s for their reproductivity, almost as an extension of feminism! 🥚

Eggs may also be against the spiritual beliefs or principles one holds! 😇

Ultimately, a true vegan will not consume eggs, no matter the “ethical” label, because it dilutes the vegan philosophy, harming the movement and delays our progress towards a “Vegan World.” 🙏
