Octopuses are awe-inspiring beings.
They have 3 hearts, and neurons along all their tentacles. Due to their great intelligence and sensitivity, they have helped dismantle many myths about invertebrates.
Like other animals, they are capable of feeling pleasure, joy, sadness and also physical and emotional pain.
They are masters of camouflage, extremely curious, like to explore, can use tools, and enjoy playing too!
Although they are primarily solitary, they have been seen working as a team on many occasions, even with members of other species.
Despite the fact that octopuses are complex and sentient, more than 350,000 tons of these incredible animals are killed each year to be consumed by humans, causing their populations to have been dramatically reduced worldwide.
The industry wants to solve the problem by farming octopuses to meet the demand for their meat. Let’s not allow it!
Today, October 8, is World Octopus Day. It is a good day to start respecting octopuses and all animals, removing them from our dishes, clothing, entertainment activities and more.
For the octopuses, for all the animals, go vegan ♥
